If you really want to boost your happiness and your results in life and business, I'd especially recommend that you allocate time to read these exceptional books as my personal pick of the bunch...
I even facilitate a weekly online masterclass where we are progressively reviewing and discussing these gems. Details are on the 'Must read' page.
Resources - Tony's Recommended Books Lists by Category
The following lists are books that are in my personal library, broken down into categories, and that’s why I can call them recommended books, however I have also compiled a shorter list of books that I feel are life-changing and they are on my personal shortlist of 'must read' books.
I have a small confession – there are a couple on my extensive lists that I have not yet made time to read, but I'm working my way through!
So, without further ado, I have listed the books for you under the following categories:
Quick 'Jump to Category' Links:
This category includes books about business improvement in general, business marketing and sales, management tools and techniques and how to develop your leadership skills and effectiveness, your organisational skills and productivity.
This category encompasses many aspects of personal development. It includes books that teach you how to understand yourself and others better; how to set goals and manifest the kind of lifestyle that you want; how to get in touch with your spiritual side; how to build great relationships; and how to define and overcome limiting beliefs using such tools as NLP (Neuro linguistic programming) and behavioral science.
This category includes books about celebrities you will definitely have heard of, plus probably a few people whom you may not know about. It includes successful people from all walks of life, inspirational leaders and people who have overcome incredible odds - one thing I have definitely learned is that nobody is an 'overnight success' and that everyone has a background story. Also, as my Father used to say to me, "Everyone has something to teach you".
What is that makes some people seem to attract money whilst others simply cannot hold onto it even if they do attract it in the first place? Learning how to manage money properly is rarely taught in schools, yet learning how to budget effectively is a key component of life. if we really want to get on, we also really need to learn how we can not only attract and keep money, but also learn about finance so that we look after our loved ones and can build wealth for our eventual retirement.
This category simply includes books that don't necessarily fit into the other categories, but which I have enjoyed reading and which often convey thought-provoking messages. I sometimes feel that certain books are classics that I think used to be read by everyone, but which sadly have often fallen by the wayside. Feel free to message me if you have other recommendations - I'm sure I've overlooked a few!
Naturally, I couldn't resist the opportunity to promote my own books to you or I wouldn't be much of a coach now, would I? This includes contributions to collaborative books but also my own work, written 100% by yours truly. You can order copies via my online shop or from all reputable book vendors!
American raconteur, Charlie ‘Tremendous’ Jones said, “You’ll be the same person in 5 years as you are today, except for the people you meet and the books you read”. (I’d just add three more things to update that in our modern world– the seminars you attend, the video clips you watch and audio books or podcasts you listen to).
As a business and lifestyle strategic coach, author and presenter, it’s important to me to spread the word that many of the world’s problems today could be caused by improving people’s education. Thus I have started in the area where I work, helping business owners and executives to reach, and stay at, the cutting edge via personal development thanks to my ‘Recommended Books’ lists, my own personally-authored books and my presenting and facilitating work. For more of my thoughts on that, see my 'About Tony' page.
Q. Did you know that it’s been reported that the average Australian reads about one book per year after they leave school – and usually it’s a fictional book?!!
- So if you were to read one book per month, that would, in theory, make you twelve times smarter!
- Another point – when someone writes a book, they are recording things it has taken them years, maybe even decades to learn. So you are receiving concentrated learning in a couple of hours. That’s being smart now isn’t it?
- What’s even smarter is to leverage off someone else’s time – that’s why I’ve done the hard yards – so I could make YOU a ‘Recommended Books’ list.
